It’s not just about clearing landmines!
Demining isn’t just about clearing landmines. It is also important that all personnel have something they can take away with them when demining has finished in Angola, or the deminers decide to retire from this work. MgM encourages all personnel to be multi-disciplied, by helping out and learning from field mechanics, drivers, administrators, surveyors and even cooks. Here we see some deminers receiving English lessons from the Team Administrator in Paredes, Bengo Province. These men know that to be able to get better jobs in the future, especially from big Multi-Nationals pouring into Angola, they need to be at least proficient in verbal English, and even more beneficial is if they can read and write English.
