1st fire engine in Ondjiva, Angola

A fire engine from Germany...

It took a while but

... finally the fire engine reached the MgM Camp in Ondjiva, Angola. Private donations and the very helpful support of the transport agency MACS made it possible.

The MgM chief of mechanics has been trained already by two young Germans - fire fighters themselves - at the Windhoek Machine Fabrik, Namibia. They volunteered to give a detailed instruction of its use an maintenance. They will repeat the lesson for the whole MgM Crew in Ondjiva, Angola in July.

Two water pools with connections and a water tower together with a garage for the vehicle are under construction.

Though the fire engine is mainly meant to play a role in MgM‘s mine clearance operations it will be at the service for the local population in any case of serious fire alarm.

MgM and the people of Ondjiva thank everybody who supported the project with money or any activity.

Stay in tune, we will report more in the near future....
